1) Since organic sulfur resides in oragnic matter, so similar TOC from both formation samples is required for the comparison. Any TOC values? 2) It is interesting to identify dibenzothiophenes from XANES, how about other organic sulfur compounds such as benzothiophenes, thiolanes?
Thank you for the question. (1)TOC contents in Dengying and Doushantuo limestones are c.a. 1000 ppm and c.a. 100 ppm, respectively (Kikumoto et al., 2014). However, XANES spectra of Doushantuo dolostone show main sulfur species are CAS even TOC content is 1000 ppm. (2)Duda et al., (2014) showed the main organic sulfur species within Shibantan limestones are Dibenzothiophenes by GC-MS.
