Those pigments! Wow! Have you done 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing above and below the chemocline? Is this part of the genetic analysis you bring up at the end?
Amazing colours aren't they! 16S has been done, and we're trying to tie those results to the BHP signatures. It looks like there is anammox in the lower lake and surface sediments.
