Well, this is really interesting! Rutile geochemistry as a proxy for exploration tool of Sn-W deposit. I would like to hear the rutile and its polymorphs occurrences, the samples appearance (color) and detailed materials and methods carried out to get those trace elements and subsequently plots. The interpretation was perfect and understand. I am aware of Sn/W deposits in my country, that we may adopt such rutile and its polymorphs investigation in our timely Sn-Ta-W exploration. Thanks Jean
All the minerals where hand picked from alluvial heavy mineral samples! Rutile can be black, red, brown and dark blue. Anatase is commonly blue, yellow, orange or brown. The problem sometimes is if you have pseudomorphoses so you need some method to make sure about the structure. We did Raman analyses. Trace element analyses were perform by electron microprobe. Some LA-ICPMS is planned because of the much better detection limits.
