Excellent presentation! I think this is partly what you are hinting at, but perhaps the initial textural homogenity of your starting samples might be important in explaining your experimental results. If this was the case, would you expect your LGB sample to be texturally more heterogeneous to begin with (i.e. is there fine microlite/oxide banding, tiny vesicle-bearing bands) than LGM?
