Th–U Powered Metamorphism: Thermal Consequences of a Chemical Hot Spot De Vries Van Leeuwen A, Hand M, Morrissey L & Raimondo T Formation of cordierite or andalusite prophyroblasts in a fine grained matrix, as indicated in slide 3, is typical feature of contact-thermal metamorphism. Are you sure that the formation of cordierite is not related to the granite intrusion in your field?

1.) WHY are the sediments in your area so radiogenic in the first place? 2.) Is there still an elevated geothermal gradient in the Arkaroola area? There are geothermal springs, but they may be shallow. I am curious as most of the sedimentary cover is eroded, or not?
