Hi Ian, your abstract looks interesting, shame you did not manage to upload a talk on time. Anyway, your "mantle mush" might be related to Sebastien Pilet's (see session 5f) upper asthenospheric partial melt that he postulates exists essentially everywhere. If so, how come we see it erupted in specific locations and not everywhere? I.e. what is the reason for the specific location of the AFV and the older monogenetic fields further south? If tectonism only, what specifically activated these areas tectonically, and not only the upper crust but transcrustally? And how does tectonic activation work in the lower, ductile crust?
