Thank you for the presentation. I am wondering how the amount of sulfide present varies down core? Do you see a decrease in S abundance in the heavier S intervals? If you don't how do you explain that in the context of needing to invoke relatively S concentration in the ocean to get that degree rayleigh fractionation?
Daniel, we did not find any relationship between S-isotope ratios and the concentrations of sulfide minerals in our collected samples. We interpreted the departure from the general stratigraphic trend to much higher S-isotope ratios within a specific interval by Raleigh Fractionation of the sea-water within the basin in a closed system regardless of the quantity of sulfur therein.
