The Geochemical Society is committed to assisting our members who are currently affected by the travel restrictions from China to Honolulu. In order to give affected members the greatest chance of submitting abstracts and presenting their work at the conference the GS has decided to extend the standard Abstract Deadline from February 14th to February 21st. It is not possible to extend the full submission date any longer as this would prevent completion of the speaker program in time for the early Registration deadlines.
After February 21st, authors affected by the travel restrictions relating to the coronavirus outbreak will be able to submit abstracts for poster presentations to the conference for an extended period. As with normal submission authors should only submit if they expect to be able to present their work at the conference and so should only submit when the dates for the end of travel restrictions are announced. This option will remain available until all poster space is filled. Instructions on how to submit will be put on the site after standard submission closes.
The GS is exploring possible options for remote presentations in the case of extended travel restrictions for members and will provide more information as it become available.
As the situation unfolds and we obtain more information, we will provide regular updates on this page.
