- Sponsor Seminars
These are scheduled events to help delegates test out the tools and platform we will be using for the Q&A and other events at the conference.
Our workshop program provides training and teaching in topics across geochemistry and related fields. We are currently liaising with the workshop organisers to ascertain if any workshops can become virtual. Any updates will be added to this page.
Social Event Locations
These are locations for the conference social events.
The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the GS and EAG have determined that the conference cannot be held as scheduled in Honolulu.
Instead, Goldschmidt2020 will become the first virtual edition of the conference.
All those who have already registered for the standard meeting will be automatically registered for the virtual experience. Delegates have been contacted directly with regards to reimbursement aligned with the new, reduced pricing structure. Social event, workshop, field trip, childcare and lunch box fees will be refunded automatically.
Members of the following societies are eligible for the member rates. Membership numbers must be given on the registration form. Please note that for student registrants it will cost less to purchase membership of the GS directly than to register at the non-member rates. Non-member registration includes 2 years GS membership.
- EAG - European Association of Geochemistry
- GS - Geochemical Society
- AGU - American Geophysical Union
- GSJ - Geochemical Society of Japan
- GSA - Geological Society of America
- IAVCEI - International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior
- MSA - Mineralogical Society of America
Reduced registration fees for delegates from low-income countries
If your main institution is in a country defined by the World Bank as having a low-income economy but you are based currently in another country please email the conference helpdesk for details of how to register at a reduced or waived rate. Please attach a scan proving your main affiliation.

If you require a letter of invitation, please register and pay for the conference, then go to my Goldschmidt / my invitations to apply for an invitation letter. For more details please see here
Off-setting Your Participation
Even with no flights and hotel stays a virtual conference will cause the release of some carbon. Delegates can take up the option to purchase the planting of a native tree on the Hawaiian Islands to support reforestation efforts as part of the registration package. Delegates can also fund the planting of a tree independently via the convention centre site. Other options for offsetting can be found on our Carbon Footprint page.
For a full list of virtual workshops running before and after the conference please go to the workshops page.
