Really interesting slides and comments, Benat! Thanks for sharing this effort. I have been working on U-series calculations in reactive transport models recently, but without steady state tracking of multiple pulses, or built-in thermodynamics/petrology constraints (mostly I import those from elsewhere, like Sarah Lambart's models). Since you are already tracking time, I wonder how easy it would actually be to build something like my modeling into a calculator like yours. I'm not sure if I will be able to stay awake long enough for your panel tomorrow, but let me know if you want to explore that at some point-- it could be very interesting! -Lynne Elkins
Hi Lynne! I guess that what you would like to know is if this framework could be modified to incorporate U-series, radiogenic ingrowth etc. Short answer is yes, and we are working on that. From the thermodynamic point of view, I do not think that there would be much of a problem, as incorporating U-series would not affect the equilibrium/disequilibrium state of the system. From the modelling perspective, it would also be possible, as these elements could be treated as additional trace elements (with further tuning to take the radiogenic ingrowth into account).
