Rob, are you surprised the titanite records such old (and fairly coherent) ages, given the hotspot seems to have significantly affected the lower crust in the region?

Congratulations Emo, you have the results I was looking for quite a while now: a texturally old rutile with an age of 1.6 Ma overgrown by a clearly young titanite with an age of 207 Ma. Brilliant! It may sound trivial to you, but you cannot believe how much one can scratch his/her head to figure out if something is driven by volume diffusion or reaction driven. THIS is clearly diffusion-driven! If you could redraw your BSE image of the rutile and the titanite from H32-3, by including those rutile and titanite ages, it would be fun to show during the Q&A session. As a convenor, I am very hesitant to play too much with the software, but in this case it would be worth trying.
