From Conveners: 1) Thoughts regarding SGD? Ba sorption/release has been shown to be affected during seasonal SGD discharge. Would this be a factor in ECS? 2) Do you think depth variations in Ba isotopes could influence the composition of planktonic forams? 3) How well constrained at preset are the isotopic fractionations associated with the incorporation of Ba into different marine reservoirs (forams, bivalves, etc.) to allow extrapolation of paleo-salinities?
