Hi Bernhard, Interesting that leaf wax CSRA are within range of the bulk 14C ages. What do you find might explain the young age for the C31 alkane in one of the two samples? thanks, Sarah

Hi Bernhard, thanks for the nice presentation. At what depths were the soil samples collected? Did you make TOC concentration measurements for those samples? Variability in organic carbon concentration might indicate different amounts of vertical soil mixing and downward mobilization of modern plant material. I also find it strange that the nC31 age is so much younger than the nC29 age for the one sediment sample. Curious to hear your thoughts. Could it be contamination?
