Role functions

Details for: Jennifer Glass

Dr. Jennifer Glass is an associate professor in the Georgia Tech School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with a courtesy appointment in Biological Sciences. She earned BSc degrees in Earth Sciences and Oceanography from the University of Washington, a PhD in Geological Sciences from Arizona State University, and a NASA Astrobiology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Caltech. Her research is on geochemistry and microbiology in context of the global biogeochemical cycles and astrobiology. She has served as PI on two NASA Exobiology grants exploring microbial-methane interactions. She is the founding chair of the Southeastern Biogeochemistry Symposium, a Kavli Fellow, a Scialog Fellow, Associate Editor for Frontiers in Microbiology and Geobiology journals, and chair of the local organizing committee for AbSciCon 2021. Her education and outreach efforts focus on diversifying the STEM workforce and democratizing science through open-access science communication efforts such as Wikipedia and HypothesisBrowser.
