Mentor Program
We are happy to offer a Goldschmidt mentoring program in Barcelona. Designed for novice conference attendees, students, and early career scientists, mentees will be matched one-on-one with an experienced scientist to help them navigate the conference. All applications to join the program should be made by June 18th 2019 (the early registration deadline). You must be registered and paid for the conference to be accepted into the program. A special Mentoring Lounge will be available during the ice-breaker and early in the week to ensure space is available for you to sit comfortably and chat.
Mentors should be able to do the following:
- Contact your mentee at least one week before the meeting
- Discuss any objectives of the meeting, for example: sharing science, networking, or career opportunities
- Meet your mentee in person at the ice-breaker mixer
- Introduce your mentee to at least 5 colleagues
- Be easily identified as a mentor at the meeting
- Ideally meet your mentee for coffee in the first half of of the conference
- Meet your mentee again later in the week, as necessary, to answer any questions or reflect on science sessions
