Grants
Applications to the grant program are now closed. We will notify all applicants as quickly as possible about the results of their application.
EAG and GS are committed to making the Goldschmidt Conference accessible to Ph.D. students and early career scientists. The Goldschmidt Grant Program provides waived registration fees and travel support for early career delegates residents of countries designated by the World Bank as “low-income” or “lower-middle-income” economies.
Additionally, grants for US-based students and postdocs are available through support from US funding agencies.
All applications must be completed by March 15, 2019
Am I eligible to apply?
If you cannot say YES to one of the two statements above, sadly you are not eligible.
Why are grants limited to applicants from certain countries? EAG and GS have decided to allocate grant funds in the conference budget to countries with low-income or lower-middle-income economies because early career delegates in these countries are less likely to have access to travel funding than delegates in high-income countries. Increasing participation from countries with low-income or lower-middle-income economies is an expression of the societies’ mission to make geochemistry research accessible to scientists in all parts of the world. Support for US-based students is available because dedicated GS members have sought out funds from US government agencies. These funds are restricted by those agencies to delegates who study in the US. Unfortunately, we have not obtained support from other countries.
