Is there any aspect of your research or scientific life that you feel particularly passionate about? Do you feel like your inner voice needs to be heard? If so, we invite you to inspire us with your contagious story by giving a Pop Up Talk!
As a growing Goldschmidt tradition, Pop Up Talks are here to stay! These are meant to be brief and engaging presentations in which you are allowed to speak your mind. Talks may be about the wider impact of your research, the future of geochemistry, thrilling field work stories or any other thing you have learnt and experienced in your career so far.
How you want to present your talk is completely up to you! However, we especially encourage nonstandard presentations (e.g. video, music, poetry, or any other talent you want to showcase). Both individual and team performances are permitted. This year the time limit will be 3 minutes and if using regular PowerPoints - only one slide will be allowed, so plan for it wisely. Please be as creative as you can to get your message across! We want this event to be enjoyable for broader audiences, while making it a great learning and bonding experience for all the participants.

“Targeting safe aquifers in Indus Basin, Pakistan” by Junaid Ali Khattak
“Cable bacteria: a wire-like bacteria transports electrons over long distance in sediment” by Tingting Yang

Interested in participating in this event? Please send us an email with the title of your talk and how you would like to present it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Since slots are filled on a first come first serve basis, we encourage you to hurry and reserve your spot! Also remember that this is a special event, so you wouldn’t not have to choose between your regular abstract and participation in the Pop Up session and no fee is due.
