A novel way to explore the meso scale of geological samples: Micro-XRF - Bridging the gap between micro and macro scales - Sunday Workshop
Micro-XRF technology has advanced over the past decade and now it is possible to analyse large geological samples routinely at small-scale resolution. This workshop will provide case study examples from a range of geological settings, ranging from the Earth's mantle to the surface and encompassing economic as well as academic research. In addition, a core focus will be how to maximise the micro-XRF analytical parameters for the various sample types, as well as provide hands on training. Furthermore, advantages and limitations of such analysis will be discussed. The course is 1 day in duration and will be presented on Saturday and repeated on Sunday.
