Accompanying Guest Registration
Accompanying guests can buy a daily ticket (20$US), which will admit them for one day of their choice and for the Opening Reception on Sunday, June, 8. Guests can also buy a registration for the whole conference ($100).
All accompanying guests will receive a namebadge, entrance to the Opening Reception on Sunday, June 8 and Morning and Afternoon Coffee. Registered accompanying guests are invited to purchase lunch tickets, and tickets for the social events. Accompanying guests are not allowed to enter the scientific sessions or be authors on submitted abstracts.
Registration Terms and Procedures
Payment: Payment is accepted by online credit/debit card or by bank transfer only. If you pay by bank transfer you MUST pay all the fees, otherwise your registration can not be accepted. Bank transfers may not be used for payment for on site registration.
Early registration rates: Payment in full must be received by April 8th, 2014 in order to benefit from the reduced registration rates. Delegates with registration payments outstanding on this date will then need to pay the standard registration fee. The standard registration process will be available until May 8th 2014, after which delegates will have to register at the on site rate (which is higher and registration materials will not be ready for collection on arrival).
Confirmation: Your registration and payment will be confirmed by email. Your registration will not be processed or confirmed until payment has been received. Once you have completed your registration and payment, you will receive confirmation via email. This confirmation will include your registration receipt.
Non-member Registration: Non-members Registrants will become members of the Geochemical Society as part of the registration fee, your GS membership becomes active after the conference. Your membership will be for the remainder of the year and all of calendar year 2015.
All delegates are welcome to sign up for our free mentoring program when they register. The mentoring program offers a unique opportunity for experienced scientists to guide and advise the next generation, and for early career scientists to learn from the best.
Application for grants is now closed. Any grant information is available from the Geochemical Society, please go to their website for details. For further information on grants, or your grant application, please address any emails to Seth Davis at the GS.
Letter of Invitation to Attend the Conference
A letter of invitation is issued solely for the purpose of assisting participants with visa applications and/or to obtain funding for their attendance at the conference. Such a letter does not imply any financial obligation on the part of the conference organizers. If you require a letter of invitation, please register and pay for the conference. Once the payment has been received, visit your registration page and click on the "Invitation Letter" button. This will then ask for full details for issuing the invitation letter. The Geochemical Society will be managing invitation letters for the conference but will only be able to respond to queries if an invitation request has already been completed online.
Sacramento Convention Center is located in central Sacramento and close by there are a good range of places to buy lunch at a reasonable price (only food purchased in the convention center may be eaten in the convention center). Inside the convention center itself delegates are also able to purchase salads, sandwiches etc from the food outlets situated there.
IF this does not meet your requirements, the convention center is able to offer delegates the option of a small boxed lunch at a cost of $25 per person. This comprises a triangle cut sandwich on sliced bread (ham and cheese, turkey and cheese or cheese as a vegetarian option), a piece of whole fruit such as an apple, a cookie and a bag of crisps (chips). The price does not include a drink. Please sign into your Goldschmidt account to purchase the boxed lunch via the conference website.

WorkshopsFor a full list of workshops running before and after the conference please go to the workshops page. Some of these can be booked directly with the organisers.
Registration, Lunches and Social Event bookings: You must send written notification of registration cancellation by email to the Conference Helpdesk. Registration cancellations received by 8 April 2014 (Early registration deadline) will receive a full refund. Cancellation notifications received between 8 April and 8 May 2014 will have a $50 processing fee deducted from refunds. No refunds will be issued for registrations cancelled after 8 May 2014.
Workshops: You must send written notification of workshop cancellation by email to the Conference Helpdesk. Workshops places cancelled by April 8th will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after 8 April 2014.
Field Trips: All field trip fees are non–refundable.
Abstracts: The abstract submission fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
In case of cancellation we strongly recommend that you check your travel insurance policy to ensure that it covers you for the costs of cancelling or cutting your trip short in certain circumstances.
